To cultivate and develop interest in young minds towards Indian classical music, traditions and Indian values , one such programme was conducted in the school on 25th September by Spic Macay . They performed a unique art form of Manipur that is Pung Cholam and Thang-Ta. Pung Cholam is a traditional dance of Manipur. The dance is performed with a drum called Mridanga. The artists danced on Mridanga in rhythm simultaneously whereas Thang-Ta is martial art technique of Manipur in which ‘Thang’ refers to a Sword and ‘Ta’ refers to spear . In this martial art technique the artists show varied stunts through Sword and Spear. Our students who had keenly been observing these artists learnt the trait of patience ,consistency alertness and at the same time they also learnt to be powerful. All the artists were felicitated by the principal Dr. Sangita Bhardwaj
